Maker Camp, sponsored by MAKE magazine, is a summer camp with a focus on using science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) to create, build, and discover. Golden Gate Learning Center integrates history & culture to bring those projects to life. Every day Mini Makers & Maker Campers learn about Makers of the past while becoming the Makers of the future. Campers rotate by age group every day to all four Maker Camp components: Engineering, Tech Lab, Art Exploration & ReCreation.
Entering K-1st Grade
Mini Makers are perfect innovators; they haven't learned all the shoulds of the world yet. As they Make, they experiment with the conclusions they've been reaching since the day they were born. We Make sure their picture of normal isn't boring. A 6:1 camper-to-staff ratio lets us carefully guide them among the myriad possibilities.
Entering 2nd-6th Grade
Having sized up the world a few more years, Little Makers are more prone to surprise; our plan is to do just that! Whether it's with wires, gears or glue, we help them Make connections they didn't know existed. We keep a comfortable 8:1 camper-to-staff ratio so these makers have all the help they need to succeed.
